The event is separated into segments, in which the player is tasked with helping two Grumpuses at a time using "deadlier" versions of each of the tools the player has come to learn and use throughout the game: a Snak Trap meant to blend Bugsnax, a Snakgrappler with a boxing glove attached, a Trip Shot set to electrocute, a Lunchpad with flammable Snakwater loaded on, Sprout's Buggy Ball with spikes attached, and a Sauce Slinger armed with Special Sauce that will make Bugsnax fight over it.ĭepending on the player's actions during these sequences, the different Grumpuses can die from eating all of the bugs attacking them, and becoming Bugsnax themselves making it the only quest that can have a different ending depending on player choice. In the case of Floofty and Shelda, they resided in outer biomes and thus do not defend a certain side. The areas they defend and/or Bugsnax they fend off is loosely based on what area the expeditionees resided when the Journalist met them. Snorpy hurriedly greets Filbo and The Journalist, asking where they have been and is busy fueling the balloon of the Journalist's newly repaired airship. Upon arrival, Snaxburg has turned into a battlefield, the meadow now roughed up by the earthquake and impassable and hordes of aggressive Bugsnax coming in town from every side to neutralize their ecology. Filbo gains consciousness and the two rush over to Snaxburg to prevent the expedition team from eating more Bugsnax and escape the island.
